A gobo (or GOBO) derived from "Go Between" or "Goes Before Optics" is a physical template slotted inside, or placed in front of, a lighting source, used to control the shape of emitted light.

In the design of an artificial environment in which lighting instruments are used, it is sometimes desirable to manipulate the shape of the light which is cast over a space or object. To do so, a piece of metal with patterned holes through which light passes is placed in the beam of light to allow only the desired "shape" or pattern through, while blocking the rest of the light, casting a specific shadow/light into the space.

This drawing is for project 04 emphara. It focuses on the motility and sensorial data of wind of the site. The data is the average for 3 different days in every week and is collected by the local weather station of the site. It shows how the wind changes through places and time in one day. Firstly, I traced the available paths of the site and use it as the base drawing. The fine white lines represent the wind and it collaborates with the short yellow line in the circle to show the direction of the wind in specific spots of the site (Mostly from the south and east). The size of the circle means speed of the wind in each spot, the bigger, the stronger. In order to enrich the drawing, I also add the time into it. On the top of the drawing(In the direction of north), the white illuminated line shows the sun light in one day, which represent the sun rise from east and down to the west. The yellow number above it shows the specific time and the blue dot lines are the time line. The color of the circle means the speed of the wind in one day, the darker, the stronger. You can also see the exact parameter of the wind speed in the drawing.
